As Executive Chef and Partner of Alto, Convivio and Marea restaurants, Michael White creates Alto’s Northern Italian and L’Impero’s Southern Italian cuisine, thoughtfully sourcing products directly from the country to make dishes shine.
The award-winning chef and cookbook author mastered his craft while working under some of the finest chefs in Europe, including Italy’s Valentino Marcattilli and France’s Roger Verge. White spent eight years in Europe before returning to the U.S. to further hone his culinary skills. Before becoming a partner at Alto, White held posts at highly acclaimed restaurants including Chicago’s four-star Spiaggia and New York City’s Fiamma Osteria.
