
CHRIS CANNON
Chris Cannon, Operating Partner and Owner of Alto, Convivio and Marea restaurants, has been passionate about the culinary world since his childhood. At the age of 6, Cannon became his mother’s sous chef and began spending summers in her native Greece, learning the subtle nuances of Greek cuisine.
His love of food and culture propelled him to Paris, where he spent a year training in the kitchen of two-star Michelin Chiberta, before returning to the States. Interested in exploring the front-of-the-house upon his return, Cannon immersed himself in prominent positions at acclaimed New York restaurants including Rainbow Room, Palio, and Remi. In 2000, Cannon had the foresight to open the innovative wine and “fast bar” concept, Bar Veloce.
As an owner of JUdson Grill, Alto and L’Impero, Cannon’s restaurants have earned three-star reviews from The New York Times. Cannon is a rare operator, having experienced both front and back of house, lending a unique perspective to both of his restaurants.
